New year, new plan for Plutus Health!

Exciting times are ahead in 2020 and beyond, as we start a fresh chapter of our proud history by teaming up with a new partner.

We’ve been acquired by the Welsh Hospitals & Health Services Association (WHA) and will be moving to Cardiff in the new year. We will continue to serve the people of Gwent as we have done for almost 200 years, with the same values at the heart of our service, but as part of a bigger team. We would like to reassure our members at this exciting time of change that your plans will remain unaffected, with all benefits to continue.

Plutus Health and WHA have similar backgrounds, both providing members in Wales and the surrounding areas with healthcare cash plans for many decades – in our case, since 1839! We are both not-for-profit associations and have our members at the heart of everything we do, providing access to excellent healthcare at a price you can afford.

Plutus chief executive Martin Ricketts said: “In October 2019, WHA acquired Plutus Health by becoming its sole corporate member. WHA and Plutus have enjoyed similar histories, both serving their communities for many decades and promoting, through their health plans, the good health of employees and members of the public in Newport, south east Wales and beyond. This longevity would not have been possible without the support of our members.

“The acquisition of Plutus by WHA will ensure that the Fund continues to serve its members for many years to come, through developing and offering high quality, cost-effective health plans.”

Our Newport office will close, with our team there relocating to the capital on January 3 2020. Our new address should be easy to remember as we’re moving from Cardiff Road, Newport, to Newport Road, Cardiff! While most of our members will be unaffected by this change, we are mindful that those members who call into our office from time to time may require additional support regarding membership fee payment and claims processing.

Our new address is:

Plutus Health

60 Newport Road

Cardiff

CF24 0YG

From January, all claims forms should be sent here, as well as subscription payments made by cheque (these remain payable to Plutus Health). But don’t worry if you address mail to Newport, as it will be redirected by the Post Office. There are no changes to your usual staff contacts and our office telephone numbers will remain the same.

Martin added: “We thank you for your understanding and continued support, and we will be doing our very best to ensure a smooth changeover. However, should you have any questions or concerns, then please do not hesitate to contact me or a member of the team. In the meantime, I would like to wish all our members and friends a very happy Christmas and a prosperous new year!”

Our Newport office will be open until Monday, December 23, and we will then close over the Christmas period until reopening in our new location on Friday, January 3 2020. Should you have any questions or need any assistance, please telephone01633 266152 or email us at admin@plutushealth.co.uk.
